PYLOT

Came across PYLOT magazine and was immediately inspired because it is an all-analogue fashion and photography magazine. In this digital age it is hard to find a magazine or publication that hasn't been digitally edited. PYLOT pride themselves on their strictly no airbrushing and re-touching policy 'celebrating the unique artistry of analogue processes.

There contemporary layout and typesetting is relevant because analogue processes are very rarely perfect and this forward thinking approach makes each page a pleasure to look at. A publication about creativity provides opportunity to be more expressive with layout due to the target audience.

The soul of the magazine is devoted to all analogue fashion, fine art and architectural images. These are subject areas that I am interested in because they benefit my design and I broaden my interest and understanding of creativity around the world.

PYLOT is also open to submissions for photography and articles which is a good opportunity, however the images must be strictly analogue.

Combining text and image is an important skill, especially in graphic design. Finding publications and reading about designers analogue practice was refreshing in an age dominated by digital media.
