Lacock Abbey - Photography

My interest in analogue photography brought me to Lacock Abbey which is a National Trust location.

In 1835 William Henry Fox Talbot, amateur scientist and inventor, created the first photograph in Lacock Abbey. The film developing process has hardly been changed since Talbot first invented the negative.

Went to the window it was taken:

Talbot left the light sensitive paper for up to three hours for it to fully expose. I have experience in analogue and dark room photography which made the tour familiar and I was able to appreciate Talbot's creation. The photograph can be argued to be one of the most powerful communicator and Talbot was the originator of this.
