I wasn't aware of Studio 12 before the talk, however the studio clearly share positive values as they contribute to providing young people with the opportunity to express themselves creatively. Giving disadvantaged young adults the opportunity to discover hidden talent or a passion for creative media will puts them in a positive direction in the future.

Opportunity

Claire introduced us to the Leeds Zine Fair which provides the opportunity for me to submit a zine to the exhibition as well as giving me a cultural event to put in the diary. This would be a great opportunity to submit my work as one of my competition briefs for Studio Brief 01.

The exhibition will showcase Leeds culture, heritage, talent and creativity which provides a lot of creative freedom. The topic is reminiscent of Studio Brief 01 for OUGD505 which can run parallel and would allow my research to impact both briefs. The lack of limitations for a zine would be a great opportunity to explore techniques and processes out of the formal, commercial context.

According to the flyer, Footprint Co Op will be at the event to create a zine of the day. This would be a great opportunity to experience the ethical print studios workshop and gain contact with creatives in the industry.
